It’s only natural for an angler to be proud of his or her catch. Over the years, WaterLine has published thousands of reader photos, and we do that because we know that not only do fishermen like to show off what they’ve caught, other fishermen like to see what the other guys are catching.

WaterLine isn’t the only place you can find photos of people holding up fish. They’re all over Facebook. Of course, there’s one tiny difference: The pictures we print in WaterLine are eyeballed and approved by someone who knows a little something about fishing, so photos that show illegal, unethical or otherwise questionable subject matter can be cut. On Facebook, you’re free to post anything you want — sometimes at your own peril.
