The Port Charlotte Pirates entered Friday night’s District 11 showdown against Venice with their ace, University of Florida commit Kyle Kemp, going up against Tyler Shambora, the Indians’ No. 3 pitcher.

But it was Shambora who pitched like the ace on this night, stifling the Pirates’ bats as the Indians tagged Kemp for eight runs in 3 1⁄3 innings en route to a 9-0 shutout win.
