After a three-year hiatus, Venice High softball coach Larry Sandburg is back. And as was often the case during Sandburg’s first tenure coaching softball, the Indians are off to a hot start.

Venice jumped all over the Palmetto Tigers from the get-go Tuesday, plating five runs in the first two innings en route to a 12-1 mercy rule win after five innings.
