Taira Ward had 13 points, but Venice fell 64-53 to Braden River.
When Maggie Flynn’s three-point play gave the Venice Indians a 13-6 lead in the first quarter of Tuesday night’s district matchup with Braden River, it felt like the Indians were poised to pull off an upset. Venice was flying to the ball defensively, forcing turnovers and converting them into layups on the other end.
Unfortunately, youth can be as inconsistent as it is promising.
