Alfred Martin Budner,
Alfred Martin Budner, 80, of Venice, Fla. formerly of Michigan, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013.
Al was born Nov. 10, 1932 in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Martin and Martha (Werner) Budner. He was a teacher with a Bachelors and Masters degree from Michigan State University in Education and taught for Venice Jr. High and both Venice and Sarasota high schools for 36 years until his retirement. He also worked as a media specialist.
Al coached high school football and umpired both little league and high school baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley; son, Larry and wife, Angkana, along with their daughter, Jessica, all of Thailand; daughter, Terri Khalil, husband, Mohsin, and their daughter, Sonya, all of Clearwater, Fla.; daughter, Becky Schimsky and husband, Steve, of Clearwater, Fla.; and sister, Alice Bolzan and husband, Lou of Orland Park, Ill.. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Budner.
Services: A private burial will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
