Margaret “Peg” Crawford, 95, of Venice, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.

Born March 24, 1917, in Blenheim, Ontario, Canada, she was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Duncan James Crawford.

She was a 35-year member of Christ United Methodist Church of Venice, serving as president of the United Methodist Women from 1978 to 1982. She was a 25-year member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America Inc.; and a member of Ladies of the Venice Shrine. Peg supported many charitable organizations and activities.

She is survived by James Dale Crawford, son, of Venice, John Alan Crawford (Geraldine), son, of Troy Mich., and Jennie Lee Crawford, daughter, of Nokomis; grandchildren, Jean L. Crawford, Cambridge, Mass.; Stephen James Crawford, Clarkston, Mich.; Andrea Demeter Lupo of Troy, Mich., and Stephen Demeter of Chicago, Ill.; three great-granddaughters; and eight nieces and five nephews.

Services: Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Christ United Methodist Church, Venice.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice of Southwest Florida; or Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America Inc., Endowment Fund, by a check payable to Sar-I Court 79, 8207 Timber Lake Lane, Sarasota FL 34243.
