Dillard W. Kuhlman passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 8, 1916. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he lived in the Tower Club as a scholastic honor student and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He was called to serve in World War II, entered in the Army, Chemical Warfare Division. He met his wife, Dorothy, while stationed at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, Colo.. He was honorably discharged from the Army as a major. Dillard and Dorothy returned to Louisville, Ky., where he worked for American Creosoting Corporation for 25 years. After retiring, he built his plant, Treated Wood Products Company, where he served as president for eight years. Upon his retirement, they moved to Nokomis, where they joined the Mission Valley Country Club.
Dillard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Long Kuhlman; his daughter, Cynthia Kuhlman, and son-in-law, Kip Sengstock.
Services: Services will be private. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
