Thomas C. Furry, 75, of Venice, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at a local hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas was a real estate broker in the Venice area for 25 years. Thomas previously worked as a broker in Ohio, and he served in the U.S. Army in the Far East Command shortly after the Korean War. He earned medals for marksmanship and good conduct and was honorably discharged.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Cecil E. Furry, and mother, Letitia Gallagher Furry. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Karla Furry; his son, Thomas Jr.; several grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Anne Furry of Pensacola, Fla.; his niece, Beth Cunningham, and her husband, Lewe, of Pace, Fla., and their children, Lt. Amanda Cunningham of Jacksonville, Fla., Jessie Self of Arkansas and Donald Cunningham of Pace; his nephew, Joseph Furry, and his wife, Liliana, of Jacksonville and their children, Yuzo Yamamoto and Hannah Furry.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Michael Mumma, Dr. Howard A. Grossbard and the entire staff and medical professionals at Venice Regional Medical Center.
