This design for a "Polar Umbrella" won Venice High graduate Derek Pirozzi the top prize in the 2013 eVolo International Skyscraper Competition.

Derek Pirozzi, a 2004 Venice High School graduate, took top honors in the 2013 eVolo International Skyscraper Competition.

His “Polar Umbrella” won first place out of 625 projects submitted by architects from 83 countries, earning Pirozzi a $5,000 prize.
