NORTH PORT — The Florida Elections Commission found 12 counts of probable cause that North Port City Comm-
issioner Cheryl Cook violated state statutes pertaining to election law during her run and eventual win for commission Seat 1 last year, according to a report.

The seven-member Elections Commission unanimously found Cook to be in violation during a Feb. 19 meeting, the report states. Violations include one count of failing to mark a political advertisement with a proper disclaimer, along with 11 counts of various campaign finance mistakes, including making improper campaign expenditures and filing a false financial statement.
