Theater’s longtime costumer dies
Joan Dillon, who passed away this week, is pictured performing as Mamie Yokum in the1973 Venice Theater production of "Lil' Abner." This was the first production in the theater's present home.
Joan Dillon designed her first costumes at Venice Little Theatre in the early 1970s. She died March 11, at 89.
“She was one of the most dedicated people to ever come through our theater,” Venice Theatre’s executive/artistic director Murray Chase said Friday. “She often was forced to do a lot with limited resources. She was a master at reworking costumes and figuring out how to make things.”
