Hair Designs celebrates 30 years in business in North Port

Ten stylists and the owner of Hair Designs at 14829 Tamiami Trail recently took a minute from beautifying customers to celebrate 30 years in business. NORTH PORT — When Hair Designs opened on March 1, 1983, owner Joyce Chatfield said just about the only thing in town was a Winn-Dixie.
“I started out next to the (old) post office,” she said. “We were right next to Abbe’s Donuts.”
