North Port city commissioners are currently in Washington, D.C., representing the city as part of the National League of Cities Congressional City Conference. They’ll travel to Tallahassee in two weeks for Legislative Action Days, again representing the city as part of the 2013 legislative session.

In both cases, they’re taking with them a list of priorities, including securing funding to widen River Road, and continued funding of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program on the state level; and supporting the passage of the Water Resources Development Act, and preventing cuts to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program on the federal level.
