A site and development plan for the new "Venice Urgent Care Center" at U.S. 41 Venice Bypass North was approved by the Venice Planning Commission this week.

Venice Regional Medical Center’s attorney this week attempted for a second time to delay a site plan petition by Sarasota Memorial Hospital to build a medical center in its backyard — without success.
Both are among the largest employers in the county.
