Venice foundation tops Giving Partner leaderboard

When the 36-hour Giving Challenge ended at 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation of Venice topped the list with 678 eligible gifts totaling $90,102.

There were 17,626 unique gifts totaling $2,788.418 to the 285 nonprofit participants in the event, which is in its second year. The nonprofits were vying for matching gifts totalling $645,000 contributed from six area foundations.
