PORT CHARLOTTE — The marijuana grow house in which Charlotte County Sheriff’s narcotics and street-crimes detectives seized
289 marijuana plants weighing 400 pounds Thursday was typical of those run by sophisticated criminal organizations, according to CCSO Capt. Les Partington, who oversees the divisions that conducted Thursday’s raid.
The good news is, with Sheriff Bill Prummell’s support, the Sheriff’s Office has ratcheted up the sophistication level of its response, under a reorganized division that now includes the undercover narcotics, street-crimes detection and fugitive-apprehension units, all operating under one supervisor, according to Partington.
