When the prospect of your next trip to the gas station gets you down, remind yourself that things could be worse: You could be someone like Garry Moore, for whom gas is a tool of the trade.

Between the cost of driving from job to job and the expense of keeping his mowers, blowers and trimmers running, Moore, the owner of South Venice-based State of the Art Landscaping, said he’s paying more than $2,600 a month for gas.
