Garry and Vicki Moore own State of the Art Landscaping, which, like any business that uses a lot of gas, is struggling to cope with a spike in fuel prices.

Between the cost of driving from job to job and the expense of keeping his mowers, blowers and trimmers running, Moore, the owner of South Venice-based State of the Art Landscaping, said he’s paying more than $2,600 a month for gas.
