PORT CHARLOTTE — Matt Moore held a football tucked under his right arm as he walked with Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon early Wednesday morning. The left-hander was on his way to get a physical before the first day of official spring training workouts began.
They weren’t playing catch but catch-up. They talked about a favorite restaurant in Tampa, 717, which Moore’s uncle owns and Maddon frequents during the season.
