AVON PARK — When the buzzer sounded Tuesday night, DeSoto County High School stamped its ticket for a second consecutive trip to the regional playoffs.

But neither Bulldogs coach Richard Koonce nor his players were getting ahead of themselves. The matter at hand was that DeSoto County would get another shot at Avon Park in the district final after a 57-32 victory over Frostproof in the District 4A-10 semifinals.
