Briner passes away, leaves sweet memories

Bob Briner, a longtime Dairy Queen owner and local historian and Triangle Inn volunteer, has passed away.

Briner purchased the business from Lucille Blackburn Sept. 1, 1955 and operated it until Feb. 1999 when the building was razed for the widening of U.S. 41 Business.

An era has ended in Venice with the passing of longtime Dairy Queen owner and local historian and Triangle Inn volunteer Bob Briner.

He passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. He was 81.
