pirates’ plan works
PORT CHARLOTTE — A line of Port Charlotte players crossed the width of the school’s soccer field Tuesday night in a post-game jog. The intent was to cool down, but the team was still wired, chanting and jumping around.
By the visitor’s bench, Charlotte High School’s players were quiet. They hugged each other or exchanged handshakes. The underclassmen cracked jokes to cheer up the seniors, whose careers had just ended with a 7-0 loss in the District 4A-11 quarterfinal.
