Sarasota County Commissioner Christine Robinson spoke about how the county has weathered the economic downturn — and signs of an economic rebound — in a “state of the county” address to a full house at Englewood’s Historic Green Street Church Thursday morning.
“Like many other communities around the state, we’ve experienced many challenges this past year,” Robinson said. “But with careful budget and financial planning, we preserved most county programs and services despite a slow-recovering economy and a high unemployment and foreclosure rate.”
