FORT MYERS, Fla. — Millions are descending on southwest Florida to spy on some of their most famous citizens — American bald eagles Ozzie and Harriet.

The world watched via webcam as the eagles recently added two hatchlings to their nest. One came on New Year’s Day and a sibling came three days later.

The News-Press reports that more than 2.7 million streams have been recorded on the eagle cam installed above the nest. The babies will likely stay in the nest until late March.

Dick Pritchett owns the property where the nest resides. He said the family installed the camera after hearing about other eagle cameras around the country, saying they wanted to share the experience with the world.
