out to war torn soldiers

Is there anything more comforting than the thought of wrapping up in a soft, colorful quilt made especially for you by a loved one?
That was Catherine Roberts’ thinking in Seaford, Del., when she began Quilts of Valor in 2003. Her son Nathanael’s deployment to Iraq was her initial inspiration, but since then Quilts of Valor has burgeoned into a national program that sends handmade quilts to soldiers wounded or touched by war as a way of saying someone cares, someone appreciates them.
