County has 13,000 backlogged work orders
SARASOTA COUNTY — The county has nearly 13,000 work orders — ranging from light bulbs that need changing to major sidewalk and road repairs — on backlog, and a lot of that comes down to the Maximo work-order software system the county currently uses to track work orders.
County Administrator Randall Reid said Maximo is a software system, designed to increase efficiency and effectiveness of work, that was implemented by the county several years ago, and is used by government entities throughout the nation. He said it could be a factor in terms of things that delay the delivery of services, because all activities performed by county maintenance crews are done by work orders.
