During their Tuesday night regular meeting, Sarasota County School Board members took time to thank a number of clubs, organizations and individuals who donated backpacks of school supplies and other items to help needy students earlier this school year.

“It’s hard to believe in Sarasota County we have over 1,000 homeless students,” board Chair Caroline Zucker said by way of an introduction.
