PUNTA GORDA — An early morning cold front made for a windy, clear-sky Saturday and challenging fishing conditions on Charlotte Harbor for the Flatsmasters Redfish Series Championship.

Team Wild Alaska Salmon, led by Capt. Dave Bolema, took the lead with two redfish for a total weight of 13.93 pounds, good for 100 points. Team Type 2 was close behind with a weight of 13.77 and 99 points. Ten teams in the 49-team field failed to weigh fish.
