PUNTA GORDA — Charlotte High School had a very tall order Thursday night in visiting Manatee, and the Tarpons came up short, losing 25-18, 25-13, 25-19.

The Hurricane roster includes three girls taller than 6 feet and nine over 5-10. Charlotte has five girls over 5-10, and one, Jenny D’Alessandro, over 6 feet tall, but the Tarpons are much smaller as a whole. The size advantage was considerable for Manatee on offense and defense.
