NORTH PORT — The city took a step up the transportation ladder last week when North Port City Commissioner David Garofalo was named as a representative to the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority.

Understanding ascension in the ranks of governmental transportation is akin to understanding the lyrics of the children’s song “Dry Bones.” In this case, the city/county is connected to the Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization, the MPO chair is connected to the West Central Florida MPOs Chairs Coordinating Committee, and the CCC is connected to the TBARTA board.
