Society learns of Manasota Key cemetery site

More than 50 gathered at the North Port Community United Church of Christ Tuesday night for a presentation by Jean Airey about a Native American cemetery unearthed on Manasota Key in 1988.

Airey, vice president of the Lemon Bay Historical Society, voluntarily complied a number of databases analyzing findings from the site, in the hopes it might spur more research.
