NORTH PORT — While most people aren’t even thinking about the holidays, the North Port Library staff is already gearing up for their sixth annual “1800s Christmas” celebration, and they are hoping members of the community will step up and volunteer to make the Dec. 2 event a success.
The first 1800s Christmas event, the brainchild of Youth Services librarian Janet Hansen, took place in 2006 as a way to encourage North Porters to learn more about both Victorian times and the environment.
