NORTH PORT — After eight weeks, Jamie Martin noticed her 16-year-old son Lane Tein changed. He verbalized his feelings more and stopped fighting as much with his siblings.

Martin credits a voluntary eight-week course for Sarasota and Charlotte County youth that Lane signed up for through Tri-County Counseling & Life Skills Center in North Port.
