NORTH PORT — David Jones is two weeks into his tenure as North Port High School principal. After years of having a side gig as a stage magician, he still can’t resist showing off his three-card-monte trick. He claims he’s slow, but even with careful observation, there’s no way to tell how he pulls off the switcheroo.

“It’s like learning a musical instrument. It takes years,” he said with a grin Friday.
