PUNTA GORDA — The Florida Highway Patrol reports that all lanes of Interstate 75 are now open on the Peace River Bridge between Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.

Troopers continue to investigate a traffic fatality on I-75 that was reported at 4:32 a.m. A body was hit by multiple vehicles just south of Harborview Road Exit 167, about 100 yards onto the southbound bridge. Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrived and are interviewing at least five drivers who may have run over the body. Traffic is slow, but moving through the accident scene.
