With flags at Patriots Park fluttering in a gentle breeze and the sun shining brightly, Gene Sweeney addressed a small group of supporters at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday before a crane lowered the steel beam from Tower One onto the base plinth of the Venice 9/11 Victims and Fallen Military Heroes Memorial.

“This is one of the final components in what has been a three-year success coming to the culmination for the dedication next month at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in this very same spot,” said Sweeney.
