A medical campus in North Venice is one step closer to becoming a reality.

The Venice Planning Commission recently approved a site plan by owners of Sarasota Memorial Hospital for the Laurel Road medical campus and ambulatory service at Pinebrook Road just off Interstate 75 — over the objection of Venice Regional Medical Center.
