With 52,808 votes cast Tuesday, Ed Brodsky led fellow Republican Peter Lombardo with 52.67 percent to 47.33 percent in the race to face Democrat John Torraco for state attorney of the 12th Judicial Circuit.

Brodsky had 27,814 votes to 24,994 for Lombardo, according to the Florida Department of State, Division of Elections website. The 12th Circuit comprises Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto counties.
