State Sen. Nancy Detert, R-Venice, has been honored for her leadership efforts by the Florida Alliance for Arts Education.
“Sen. Detert is an important and outspoken supporter of arts education as part of quality education for every Florida Student,” Executive Director Susan Burke said. “She was instrumental in disseminating a report based on Florida Department of Education data that shows high school students with more arts credits have higher grade-point averages, perform better on standardized tests and are less likely to drop out.”
