Tropical Storm Debby hammered Caspersen Beach, but the damage there was minor compared to Manasota Key and Siesta Key, which may qualify for Federal Emergency Management Agency funds.

Sarasota County officials have estimated the total damage from Tropical Storm Debby at $2,190,600 — more than the threshold required for federal assistance.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s threshold for public assistance is $1,286,328.72. The state, along with FEMA, performed a preliminary damage assessment last week.
