NORTH PORT — On June 10, 1972, the first members of North Port’s first Kiwanis club gathered to watch as Kiwanis officials presented the club’s charter.

Forty years later, on July 15, current and former members of the club known as the Noon Kiwanis will gather at another dinner-dance — this time, to celebrate four decades of friendship, fellowship and service.
