In what appears to be the beginning of a turf war, a representative for Venice Regional Medical Center on Tuesday objected to a proposed site and development plan for a local Sarasota Memorial Hospital facility.

The site plan petition for a sprawling facility was before the Venice’s planning commission for consideration, but the matter was continued to its Aug. 7 meeting.
