NORTH PORT — David Precht’s lawncare business is on hold after his truck and trailer filled with lawn equipment — some of it brand new — was stolen last week.

In business since 2004, Precht, who lives in North Port, owns Frontier Lawn & Landscaping, and works from Fruitville Road in Sarasota all the way south to Haberland Boulevard. On June 7, Precht left his truck parked on Amendolia Avenue while he went to take his family’s new dog to a veterinary appointment. Sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., when he returned, it was stolen.
