Robinson pushes for fund increase
NORTH PORT — Sarasota County Commission Chairwoman Christine Robinson came to the city last week to stump for a proposal that would put $6 million in savings into the county’s Economic Development Incentive Fund.
Robinson said the county had saved the $6 million last fiscal year, and county commissioners have at least two choices regarding the funds: first, return them to the county’s General Fund to help close a budget gap projected for fiscal year 2015; or, second, reallocate them into the incentive fund. Robinson pushed for the latter during a meeting of the government relations committee of the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce held at City Hall.
