Michael Joseph “Roc” Donahue, 60, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at home.

Michael “Roc” was born March 20, 1952, in Southington, Conn., son of Julia Carbone Donahue and Brendan Donahue.

He was the husband of Deborah Ann (nee Wren) Donahue, and father of Julia Ann Donahue of Punta Gorda. Michael was a graduate of Sandusky High School of Sandusky, Ohio, and Kent State University, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Working for Sony Signatures in the concert industry, he traveled extensively in the U.S., also touring Europe, Japan and Australia. Working with bands such as the Rolling Stones, Springsteen, Billy Joel, Aerosmith and many others provided Michael with a very exciting career. However it was marrying Deb and raising his daughter, Julia, that gave him the most joy in life. He was a devoted husband and father.

Michael loved and was loved by his large family, including siblings, Paula (David) Gold, Felice Donahue, Brian Donahue, Mary Rydingsward, Thomas (Kimberly) Donahue and John (Wendy) Donahue; brother-in-law, Paul Phaneuf Jr.; 12 nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Phaneuf.

Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury, Conn. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
