Henry De Vries, 92, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.

He was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Norden, Germany.

Henry moved to Port Charlotte 17 years ago from Miami, Fla. He was a retired auto mechanic who worked in Canada and Miami. Henry was a member of the German-American Club of Charlotte County, Fla.

He is survived by his brother, Helmut (Else) De Vries of Port Charlotte; and sister, Grete Prause of Germany. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Graf De Vries, who passed away in 2009.
