There was an outpouring of support Jan. 26 during for the annual Walk for the Poor fundraiser for the The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda. Throughout the event, folks donated food, clothing, housewares and furnishings before taking a walk around Sacred Heart’s block five times. Afterwards, people were treated to a barbecue in the parish hall.
