Red tide likely culprit in razorbill deaths

ENGLEWOOD — Rare northern seabirds caused great excitement among local birders when they showed up in mid-December far from their usual territories, but now they’re showing up dead, and red tide could be to blame.

A local biologist and wildlife officials speculate that storms blew the birds off course and red tide may be killing them.
