CAPE CORAL — It took a while for the North Port High School boys basketball team to break down Mariner on Saturday night. But the Bobcats came up big in the closing minutes.

Senior Malek Barber’s 3-pointer with 1:49 remaining gave the Bobcats the lead for good as they overcame early foul trouble to post a 57-51 win in a non-district matchup.
