PORT CHARLOTTE — Port Charlotte High School entered Friday’s District 7A-11 showdown against Venice with their ace, University of Florida commitment Kyle Kemp, going up against Tyler Shambora, the Indians’ No. 3 pitcher.
But it was Shambora who pitched like the ace, stifling the Pirates (2-7, 1-3). The Indians, meanwhile, tagged Kemp for eight runs in 3 1⁄3 innings en route to a 9-0 shutout.
