Charlene A. Gardner, 68, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Somerville, Mass.

Charlene moved from Nashua, N.H., to Port Charlotte in 1994, and retired in 2011, after 17 years, with HCA.

She will be greatly missed by her sister, Lois (Anthony) Cirurso of Port Charlotte; nephew, Scott (Nancy) Simeone of New Hampshire; niece, Elaine (Michael) Fitzpatrick of Massachusetts; cousin, Carol FC Reddersen; daughter, Jenna Goddard of California; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Jan Gardner of St. George Island; best friend, Regina (Bill), Nathan and Danica Buckley of Punta Gorda; close and caring friend, Diane of Port Charlotte; and many more Florida friends. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Gardner; and her infant twin sister.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at San Antonio Catholic Church. Per Charlene’s request, no flowers please.
